Mom says to continue to follow social distancing guidelines, even on Mother’s Day. Listen to your mother! We will have many more years ahead to get up close and personal, but let’s stay on track with COVID-19 this Mother’s Day and continue to follow the guidelines offered by the health authorities.
#1| Mother’s Day Brunch at….Home
It’s time to step up Guys and Kiddos—
Here’s a fun twist on Mother’s Day Brunch
Make all of Mom’s favorite brunch goodies, turn off the television, phones, Everything! Make mimosas, order flowers, what else does Mom like?
Then when you think you have done enough, turn on her favorite movie and either
1) Enjoy it with her, or
2) Get lost and let her enjoy it alone.
Let Mom decide whether #1 or #2 work better for her.

#6| Indulge in Some Retail Therapy with Mom
Every mom has “a thing” or favorite store. Treat your mom to an afternoon of safe, social distanced shopping and buy her something nice, something she would not have bought for herself. Be safe and Buy Local. That makes Mom happy and keeps the Fort retail wheels turning. #Support Our Fort. We love supporting Fort Worth businesses so that’s always a Bonus. A good day of shopping is always followed by a good glass of wine at your favorite spot. See #5!
#8| Give Mom a Mani-Pedi
Couldn’t do a Mani-Pedi for Mother’s Day 2020 so it’s long overdue. Treat Mom to a little pampering to encourage mother-daughter bonding. You’re out with Mom and pampering her (and yourself). Doesn’t that feel good?
#9| Garden Together
Stop by your favorite garden center, back to #Support the Fort, and plan a day of gardening with Mom. It can be as intense or light as you want. It might end up with a nice Sip and Sit with Mom on the back porch…and that’s always a good thing!
#10| Adopt a Monarch Butterfly for Mom
The Fort Worth Zoo offers a unique way to celebrate Mother’s Day. Adopt a Monarch butterfly in honor of Mom this year! Celebrate Mom all year long with a monarch adoption from the Fort Worth Zoo. This adoption includes a monarch plush and a packet of native wildflower seeds for you to create your own butterfly retreat at home! Your adoption supports the care and feeding of the animals at the Fort Worth Zoo, including the pollinator species, and planting native wildflowers helps wild butterflies in all phases of their life cycle.

#11| Plan a Game Night for Mom
You know what games Mom likes to play—card games, board games, charades, or any other party game. If Mom likes it, let’s play it!
#12| No Work Pass
OK this should be a given. Moms do not work on Mother’s Day. If your mom tries to participate in work activities, present her with a “No Work Pass” for the day. Sit her down and take over.
#13|Custom Coupons for Mom
Since COVID has held us back with so many activities with Mom this past year, put a coupon book together for things that you and Mom have not been able to do for the past 14 months. Ideas are easy—lunch and a movie, a wine outing or Happy Hour, a spa day. The list is endless and it gives Mom lots more things to look forward to, as we continue our work to put COVID 19 behind us.
