Even as Fort Worth and all of our favorite hang-outs are opening up, What’s Up Fort Worth wants you, your family, and especially Dad to stay healthy and safe. We suggest that you do a thorough review of all local, state and federal guidelines for all these fun Father’s Day activities. And check the websites below regularly for any updates to hours of operation and/or specific policies and guidelines.
Whiskey or Beer…Never Fear!
Make it easy on yourself and on Dad. Year In, Year Out, it’s never a bad idea to take Dad to one of the great local breweries on the Fort Worth Ale Trail. If you think he needs something a little stronger, there is no shortage of distilleries in and around Fort Worth.
And if he absolutely has to do something with a little more activity to it, we have some ideas for that too!
BREWERY IDEAS FOR DAD
NEAR SOUTHSIDE
Rahr & Sons Brewery
160 years after William Rahr founded the Eagle Brewery, his great-great-grandson and namesake, Frederick William “Fritz” Rahr, Jr., felt the pull to brew and with the blessing of his wife, Erin, opened Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. on the south side of downtown Fort Worth in 2004. Knowing the family history, staff at Rahr & Sons tend to get nervous if Fritz leans over a brew kettle too far.
Hop Fusion Ale Works
Creativity is at the heart of everything they do at HopFusion Ale Works. Hop Fusion’s founders, Macy Moore and Matt Hill, are passionate about both. They firmly believe that craft brew is an experience, not just a beer. It’s about community and friends
Wild Acre Brewing
Hell’s Half Acre earned infamy in 19th Century Fort Worth as a destination for revelry and debauchery amongst the renegade travelers and traders that helped build the economy in the post-war West. Residing in its long shadow, Wild Acre Brewing Company toasts the famous stretch of land and the legends that built its reputation with a devotion to brewing the highest quality American craft beer found anywhere.
PANTHER ISLAND
Panther Island Brewing
Panther Island Brewing is a family own and operated microbrewery located on the banks of the Trinity River in Fort Worth, TX. What started out as a passion for craft beer and a fascination for home brewing grew into a full scale brewery. With the support of friends and family Panther Island became a reality in December 9, 2014. Fort Worth is our home and has given so much to us, so we love being able to give back to the Fort Worth community while doing something we love.
DOWNTOWN
Cowtown Brewing Company
Cowtown Brewing Co was founded on the idea that great beer deserves equally great barbecue. Their craft beer and smoked meats are developed and perfected on-site just minutes from Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth. Guests can enjoy their libations and succulent barbecue in the air-conditioned taproom or on the expansive outdoor deck amid lively music and a family-friendly atmosphere.
