By royal decree of the Queen, all princesses must pass a series of tests if they want to marry the hapless Prince. Even worse, throughout the kingdom no one may wed until the Prince finds a worthy wife! Many have tried, all have failed, and the Queen plans to keep it that way. But when a bold and undeniably charming new princess makes a splash at court, it seems the Queen has finally met her match. Music and mischief reign in a tale where happily ever after has never been more ap-PEA-ling.

But everything changes when she meets a man named Francis who has started ranting in the streets. Her mother, sister, and maids don’t understand it, but this man’s ideas are, like, totally starting to make sense – and now she can’t unsee the world he has shown her. The surprising story of Saint Clare of Assisi comes to vivid life in this modern parable of generosity, perfect for the holiday season.

BRUNCH…and a ton of other ideas to show MOM how much you appreciate her—

1. Pick Your Favorite Mother’s Day Brunch Spot in Fort Worth

4. Enjoy a Winery Tour and a Glass of Wine with Mom

Cowtown Winery, located on Mule Alley in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards,  offers a  sneak peek behind the scenes at Cowtown Winery! See how it all happens and let the wine maker walk you through a journey of turning juice from the grape into your favorite wine! You will see all the equipment, learn the different processes it takes, discuss the vineyards and of course sample a couple of wines. With the tour you will receive a souvenir wine glass and two glasses of wine. Cowtown Winery offers tours on select Saturdays at 3:00 pm

5. Indulge in Some Retail Therapy with Mom

Every mom has “a thing” or favorite store.  Treat your mom to an afternoon of safe, social distanced shopping and buy her something nice, something she would not have bought for herself.   Be safe and Buy Local.  That makes Mom happy and keeps the Fort retail wheels turning.  #Support Our Fort.  We love supporting Fort Worth businesses so that’s always a Bonus.  A good day of shopping is always followed by a good glass of wine at your favorite spot.   See #5!

6. Host Your Own SIP and PAINT Class

Here is another way to Support the Fort, bring some creative fun home by buying some art supplies and opening a bottle of your finest Cab. Pick a subject (like the fruit bowl on your kitchen counter or Dad lounging on the sofa) and start painting. Just don’t expect  Mom to hang your work of art in the living room?  Don’t like the PAINT part of this idea, no problem…..Host Your Own Sip and Sit with Mom.  How’s that?

7. Give Mom a Mani-Pedi

Treat Mom to a little pampering to encourage mother-daughter bonding. You’re out with Mom and  pampering her (and yourself).  Doesn’t that feel good?

8. GARDEN TOGETHER

Stop by your favorite garden center, back to #Support the Fort, and plan a day of gardening with Mom.  It can be as intense or light as you want.  It might end up with a nice Sip and Sit with Mom on the back porch…and that’s always a good thing!

9. Adopt an Asian Elephant for Mom

Mother’s Day Brunch at The Fort Worth Zoo is SOLD OUT, but you can still celebrate Mom .  Tell her that she’s elephant-astic by adopting recent first-time elephant mom, Belle, in her honor! This adoption includes an Asian elephant plush, a personalized adoption certificate, an animal fact sheet, a coloring kit and a zoo publication all packaged inside of an animal carrier box. All proceeds from the adoption program support the care and feeding of the Zoo’s animals, including the elephants.

10. Plan a Game Night for Mom

You know what games Mom likes to play—card games, board games, charades, or any other party game.  If Mom likes it, let’s play it!

11. No Work Pass

OK this should be a given.  Moms do not work on Mother’s Day.  If your mom tries to participate in work activities,  present her with a “No Work Pass” for the day.  Sit her down and take over.

12. Custom Coupons for Mom

Put  a coupon book together for things that you  and Mom can do together, for her day and for the next few months.  Can you ever spend enough time with Mom?   Ideas are easy—lunch and a movie, a wine outing or Happy Hour, a spa day.  The list is endless and it gives Mom lots more things to look forward to.
