THE FORT WORTH STOCK SHOW & RODEO’S AUDITORIUM CONCERT SERIES BRINGS EXCITING ACTS TO WILL ROGERS AUDITORIUM

John Michael Montgomery & Deana Carter, Tesla, ONEUS and Larry the Cable Guy to perform through partnership with Live Nation.

Tickets on sale Saturday, November 19 at 10 a.m.

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is partnering with Live Nation to present their Auditorium Concert Series during the Stock Show’s 23-day extravaganza January 13 through February 4. The first lineup of incredible entertainers to be announced is John Michael Montgomery & Deana Carter, Tesla, ONEUS and Larry the Cable Guy.

The concert series begins when popular Nashville recording artists John Michael Montgomery and Deana Carter take the stage on the Stock Show’s first night, January 13. Montgomery’s hits including “Life’s A Dance,” “I Love the Way You Love Me” and “I Can Love You Like That” resonate with fans across the Country music landscape. Carter’s multi-platinum debut album “Did I Shave My Legs For This?” with its super hit, “Strawberry Wine” showcases her blend of country and retrorock that have garnered her widespread respect and acclaim.

The following night, January 14, Tesla will blow the Auditorium Concert Series crowd away with their legendary blues-metal sounds. Their debut album, Mechanical Resonance, released in 1986 produced crowd favorites, “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” Mechanical Resonance reached the Top 40 on the album charts, and eventually went platinum.

K-Pop stars ONEUS, previously announced will join the FWSSR Concert Series and take the stage on Friday, January 27. The boy group will entertain fans with their music that is impossible to forget. Their debut mini-album LIGHT US hit number one on iTunes Top K-Pop Albums Charts garnering attention from global fans.

January 28 will feature the popular comedian, Larry the Cable Guy. Larry the Cable Guy is a multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee, Billboard award winner and one of the top comedians in the country. He has his own line of merchandise and continues to tour across the United States. His special “Remain Seated” is currently streaming on Netflix. Most recently he reprised his role as the loveable tow truck Mater for the new Disney + series “Cars on the Road.” Larry also created The Git-R-Done Foundation, which was named after Larry’s signature catchphrase, and has donated more than 7 million dollars to various charities.

Tickets will go on sale Saturday, November 19 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com. Texas Ballet Theater Announces Final Performance of The Nutty Nutcracker

Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) announces that the December 16, 2022 performance of The Nutty Nutcracker at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth will be the company’s last presentation, after 12 seasons, of the pop culture-infused parody for the coming years.

This change comes as former Artistic Director Ben Stevenson, O.B.E., transitions into his new role as Artistic Director Laureate. Acting Artistic Director Tim O’Keefe, former Associate Artistic Director, will create the programming for the upcoming 2023-2024 season, marking a shift in the nonprofit ballet company’s artistic vision.

TBT will continue to present all other holiday events and productions, which include the Tutu Chic Fashion Show and Luncheon in Dallas, the Caren Koslow Fashion Show and Luncheon in Fort Worth, the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea and the full five-week production of Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker at Winspear Opera House in Dallas and Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, as well as a variety of performances for schools in the DFW Metroplex.

“We are sad to see this long-standing tradition come to an end at TBT, but we are excited for the future and look forward to starting new traditions that will be as fun for the audiences, and dancers, as Nutty,” said Tim O’Keefe, Acting Artistic Director, Texas Ballet Theater.

The GM Financial Parade of Lights begins at 6:00 PM at the intersection of Weatherford and Throckmorton Streets. The parade proceeds east along Weatherford Street, turns south on Commerce and goes all the way to 9th Street. At 9th Street the parade turns west, proceeds past the Convention Center to Houston St., and then turns north on Houston Street to 2nd St.  The final turns for the parade are west on 2nd St. to Throckmorton Street, and south to 3rd St. where the parade will end. Tayla Lynn and Tre Twitty have country music in their blood. The grandchildren of famed duo Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty, the two have taken to the road to honor their grandparents in an intimate evening of music and storytelling.

Through their memories of Memaw and Poppy, as they call their grandparents, the show takes on the quality of a family get together, and it often feels more like one is on the front porch with guitars and old family hymns than it does a concert. It is a fascinating opportunity to see two of country musics greatest legends through their grandchildren’s eyes. The high-energy, heartfelt show highlights not only the bond Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty had as best friends and musical partners, but the unique bond Tayla and Tre have formed through years of an intertwined family history and their own musical relationship.

They routinely have their girl’s day out once a month on Saturday morning to get their hair done at Vidal’s Hair Salon. Dallas is married, and a successful Ford company corporate executive in Detroit. She is in a loving relationship and though her husband was laid off, she loves him, respects him and works with him. Candace is a budding rapper working as a stripper to make enough money for her demo.

The 2022 Arlington Holiday Lights Parade will brighten Downtown Saturday, December 10!

Bring your friends and family to the Downtown/University District to enjoy the Annual Holiday Lights Parade. Thousands of people will gather for the pageantry which is followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Don’t forget to bring your camera and take a picture with Santa before the parade at the Library at 100 S Center Street or after the tree lighting at the Founders Plaza at 100 W Abram Street.

    2022 NCHA METALLIC CAT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FUTURITY

    The 2022 National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Metallic Cat World Championship  Futurity returns to the iconic Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, from November 14 through  December 10, 2022, with millions of dollars up for grabs in this record-breaking cutting competition. 

    The NCHA World Championship Futurity was established in 1962 in Sweetwater, Texas, and has grown  over the past 60 years to include over 2,100 entries from around the world. This event features three year-old cutting horses that are competing for the first time ever across 27 days of competition. Event  attendees will experience not only the world-class cutting competition taking place each day in the Coliseum but will also see the daily Best of the West Trade Show located in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibit Hall and special events for the entire family to enjoy throughout the facility.  

    On Friday, November 18, join us for the NCHA Western Runway Fashion Show presented by Beau  Galyean Stallion Services featuring Ghostwood Blended Bourbon and live music from Fort Worth’s own  Summer Dean. This family-friendly event will feature the latest in western fashion featuring items from  the Best of the West Trade Show. Saturday, November 19, will include Strait to the Tailgate, a free event  featuring live music from Texan artist Colton Rice and Amanda Kate Ferris as the headliner. Join us for  great music, food and giveaways just across the street from Dickies Arena. 

    If animals are more your speed, the NCHA World Championship Futurity will include three opportunities  for the children to enjoy live animals, all in the climate-controlled Best of the West Trade Show. On  Saturday, November 26, join us for a free petting zoo and complimentary face painting. Mark your  calendar for December 3 and 4 to visit Cowboy Santa and his live reindeer!  

    In addition to these great events, the NCHA World Finals presented by Dual Smart Rey will be in Watt  Arena on November 26 and 27 and from November 30 through December 3. The World Finals features  the top 15 cutting horses from around the world competing in their respective classes. We invite you to  attend this free event and learn more about the sport of cutting. 

    The NCHA Metallic Cat World Championship Futurity, NCHA World Finals presented by Dual Smart Rey,  and the accompanying special events are free to the public, with the exception of December 8 through  10.     Texas Ballet Theater Presents Annual Production of The Nutcracker

    Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) will present Artistic Director Laureate Ben Stevenson, O.B.E.’s The Nutcracker November 25 – December 4 at Winspear Opera House in Dallas and December 9-24 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.

    This family-friendly ballet features the classic Nutcracker story, festive choreography and elaborate sets to put patrons in the holiday spirit. The show also includes special effects to enhance the production, including snow falling on stage.

    The company will perform eight times at Winspear Opera House before moving to Bass Performance Hall, where they will present an additional 19 performances.

    Many of our dancers will dance multiple roles and some are stepping into new roles for the first time this year,” Acting Artistic Director Tim O’Keefe said. “It’s exciting to see dancers expand their repertoire and take on new opportunities and I know you’ll be able to see their excitement on stage.”

    The nonprofit ballet company will also offer a pre-show Kingdom of Sweets activity area for children attending matinee performances on November 26 and December 3, 10 and 17. Activities include coloring, crafts, and themed items to take home. Kingdom of Sweets is sponsored by WFAA.

    Saluting Buffalo Soldiders is the theme of the 2022 Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade. This year’s celebration steps off on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.

    Participants will form up in the Fort Worth Panther Island Pavilion parking lot, march down North Forest Park Blvd. along the Clear Fork of the Trinity River and return.

    “Everyone can join in our salute to Buffalo Soldiers and all military veterans who have, are and will continue to make great contributions,” notes Parade Chairman Ken Cox. “On this website you can learn how to support, volunteer, and take part. “Will you consider joining this year’s celebration?” Cox asks. “If you’re not available, please help us spread the word… and we hope y’all can join our Cowtown salute on Veterans Day.”

    The theme of this year’s Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade is “Proud to be An American”. This theme is taken from Lee Greenwood’s popular song “God Bless the U.S.A.” which emphasizes the freedoms we have in these United States of America and the fact that it has been earned and must be defended.

    What do we think of when we think of being proud to be an American? We might rightly so think of the Fourth of July—picnics, parades, fireworks, patriotic music and many, many flags. We might also think of other holidays where we have friends and family gatherings and celebrations—Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Cinco de mayo, and birthday parties of all ages. We might think of vacations and the ability and freedom to drive or fly anywhere in the United States and other free countries. We might think of having an abundance of food to eat, clothes to wear, shelter to warm and cool us and good, clean water to drink. And most importantly we have the freedom to worship as we please.

    This song emphasizes the freedoms we have in these United States of America and the fact that they have been earned and must be defended. These freedoms are outlined in the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights.

    The Declaration of Independence declares that we are a nation where all men and women are created equal and are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” The declaration goes on to address the grievances the colonies had against the King of Great Britain and ends with the pronouncement that the Colonies are free and independent states and are free of allegiance to the British Crown and have full power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do.

    The Constitution of the United States contains seven articles including 27 amendments and the Bill of Rights. It describes how the new states are to operate and establishes the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches of government. The Bill of Rights are the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution and establishes the freedoms and liberties we enjoy today.

    The democracy we live in today is due to these instruments. It has been defended by our men and women in uniform and their support at home many times in our country’s almost 250 years of existence. This starts with the American Revolution and carries on with the War of 1812, Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the Global War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

    Now we are watching the Russian-Ukraine War and are ready to defend our freedom as well as many other peace loving nations if necessary. Our men and women in uniform are ready to serve and protect us and the nation we live in. Let Freedom Ring as the song so patriotically says.
