Mayfest is Returning!

MAYFEST RETURNING TO TRINITY PARK FOR ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY MAY 5 – 8, 2022

Fort Worth’s favorite family festival, Mayfest, is coming home to Trinity Park just in time to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID19 pandemic, Mayfest is bringing back all the cherished aspects of the festival – exciting attractions, delectable food and beverage, an expanded carnival, hours of live music and entertainment and fun for the whole family. Now more than ever, we look forward to celebrating Mayfest by bringing people together along the banks of the Trinity River.

50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The 50th Anniversary Celebration will begin with a Grand Opening event at the festival gate on Thursday, May 5th. Fort Worth leaders and voices of Mayfest past will recognize the efforts of individuals and organizations that have grown the festival into what it is today. The celebration culminates with a festive parade.

THE FUNDAMENTALS
With six unique areas of excitement and fun, Mayfest entertains patrons of all ages and interests! The thrilling carnival rides, games and inflatables appeal to those seeking fun and adventure. The Oasis is the perfect location to enjoy your favorite beverage in the Craft Beer Garden and Wine Vineyard, or lounge in the VIP Patio presented by Central Market and listen to your favorite band on the Oasis Stage.

One of the most anticipated components of Mayfest? The delectable festival food! We have the staples including funnel cakes, turkey legs, roasted corn and pizza. We also offer distinct flavors such as gyros, fried pies, and steak-on-a-stick. For those with a sweet tooth, savor ice cream, deepfried desserts, and shaved ice. No matter your preference, we have something to appease everyone’s appetite!

THE FRESH
Patrons won’t want to miss the re-energized Children’s Area located in the heart of the festival! The FREE Children’s Area will feature new, interactive activities including new crafts, a chalk house, a giant coloring tarp, and more! Children of all ages can help create a vibrant, colorful web at The Maypole, and dig for hidden treasure at the Giant Sand Pit.

Everyone’s favorite water-skiing squirrel, Twiggy, is back at Mayfest 2022! Children and adults revel in Twiggy’s amazing water-skiing skills as he entertainments and brings laughter to all onlookers.

Mayfest’s incredible line-up across the three live music stages is sure to appeal to fans of all genres! Headliners at this year’s festival include The Squeeze Box Bandits, Brad Thompson, Legacy 4, Poo Live Crew, Me & My Monkey and more!

National Margarita Day 2022

National Margarita Day 2022

Margarita Day 2022 is February 22!

It’s not like we need an excuse to celebrate margaritas.  The Cowboys lost in the first round (again) and we have yet another winter storm this week.  Celebrating National Margarita Day is a great way to drown our sorrows. Or for those more optimistic types, we celebrate Margarita Day because there are only 30 days until Spring arrives in the Fort.

Whatever your reason, Drink Up!  Enjoy the best margaritas that Fort Worth has to offer.

Here’s a good list to get started:

#1 Joe T Garcia’s
#2 Rio Mambo
#3 Fat Daddy’s (Mansfield)
#5 Torchy’s Tacos
#6 The Original
#7 Yucatan Taco Stand
#8 El Primo’s (Mansfield)
#9 El Arroyo (Arlington)
#10 Chimy’s

We hope you can try out one or two of our favorites on Margarita Day, February 22nd!

This father of five is a self-proclaimed All American mutt – a mixed breed who doesn’t fit neatly into any single box physically, politically, or philosophically. With fresh material and hilarious new stories, he’s not afraid to step on toes but still connects with folks who share his everyday problems in always changing America. His friends still call him by his nickname “Cowboy Bill”, but nevertheless, this comedian will have you laughing till your sides split and you’re wiping away tears.
