Copland, Dvořák, and Rachmaninoff
Nov 20 @ 7:30 pm

Overview
Aaron Copland was the quintessential American composer in the 20th century. Don’t miss the FWSO and conductor Tomáš Netopil’s performance of his third and final symphony, a fusion of his famous balletic style from works like Appalachian Spring and Rodeo with the European symphonic form. Also on the program are Rachmaninoff’s titanic Piano Concerto No. 2, dedicated to a hypnotist who helped the composer overcome severe case of writer’s block, and Dvořák’s bright and festive Carnival Overture.
