DESCRIPTION:This extraordinary exhibition showcases more than sixty objects in silver\, gold\, enamel\, and precious jewels\, given by European monarchs and rulers to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem\, a site of Christian devotion and pilgrimage\, where they have been used in religious ceremonies for centuries. Including dazzling reliquaries\, crosses\, candlesticks\, chalices\, and vestments representing the height of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century craftsmanship\, many of these objects have no equivalent anywhere else in the world. Traveling to only two venues in North America\, the exhibition represents the first—and possibly only—time these treasures will be seen in the US.

His love for recording began in 2013 when his band from the University of North Texas experienced January Sound in Dallas. From that point on\, Mark knew his career path had moved from musician to engineer. By the end of the next year\, he had earned his degree in Advanced Audio Recording from the Recording\, Radio and Film Connection after spending many hours at January Sound with the legendary Rick Rooney. \nMark remains plugged into the world of live music\, notably as audio engineer for the Live at the Omni series\, the Printed Threads Showroom Sounds series\, shows at local venues as well as touring with The Toadies. \nFor 2023 and 2024\, the Fort Worth Weekly recognized Blackstone for music production and Mark for audio engineer.

Made in collaboration with the Tarrant County Education Foundation\, the exhibit examines how long common items take to decompose\, what materials people used before plastics\, and how artists and companies are rethinking waste today. Interactive stations invite visitors to sort materials\, test recycling knowledge\, and explore how many bottles\, cans\, or plastic bags it takes to make familiar products. Designed using repurposed materials where possible\, Waste to Wonder acknowledges that sustainability is an ongoing effort and that imperfect can still be impactful.
