We’ve compiled an excellent list of holiday events from Ballet to a Parade of Lights to Virtual Cookies with Santa. There are a number of safe ways to get out (or stay-in) and enjoy the holiday festivities in and around Fort Worth!

FWSO presents Home for the Holidays at Will Rogers Auditorium

November 27th – 29th 

Get into the holiday spirit with a delightful program of your favorite seasonal tunes and Christmas carols performed by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and special guests. This perennial favorite has become a staple of the Fort Worth holiday season, where a visit from Santa and a magical snowfall invite you to come “Home for the Holidays” once again.


TBT Presents the Nutcracker & The Nutty Nutcracker

December 14-26, 2020
Virtual Online Event

Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) will keep the holiday spirit and a great holiday tradition in Fort Worth alive as they present a filmed production of The Nutcracker online December 14-26, 2020. TBT will offer a full-length film of The Nutcracker that patrons can enjoy directly on the company’s website, Digital tickets are $30 and include access to a new, 30-minute version of The Nutty Nutcracker, the company’s popular annual spoof. Traditionally a one-night-only event, patrons can watch The Nutty Nutcracker on TBT’s website as well. Tickets are priced per household and patrons can purchase them through the company’s Box Office, either online or by calling 877-828-9200 option 1.

Stage West Theatre presents The Naughty List

November 27th – December 22nd
The lists have been made, but check them twice, because someone’s been naughty who should’ve been nice! This limited engagement, outdoor live performance is a reimagined coming-of-age story featuring your favorite holidays icons. With healthy doses of magic, music, and mischief, this yuletide romp is a flurry-filled race to save the holidays!


Donahew Christmas at Billy Bob’s Texas

Christmas Night, 10pm (doors open at 6pm)

In just over 10 years, Casey Donahew has risen from being a favorite on the local Texas music scene to a nationally popular touring act who has racked up 13 No. 1 singles and consistently sells out venues across the country.  This is a great way to spend your Christmas night with one of Fort Worth’s favorite artists, Casey Donahew.

Ballet Frontier of Texas presents The Nutcracker: Kingdom of Sweets

This could very well be the only production of The Nutcracker in North Texas this season. Join Ballet Frontier for the magic of The Nutcracker: Kingdom of Sweets this holiday season! 

This year The Nutcracker: Kingdom of Sweets will start with the magical snow scene and continue through the second act! In addition, each performance will have an extra sweet bonus performance of either an evening of The Beatles, an evening of Tchaikovsky, Butterfly Lovers, and more!

Jingle All The Way, A Holiday Family Concert at Casa Manana

December 5-20

Your favorite holiday hits, sung by your favorite holiday characters! Join Frosty, Rudolph and Jingle the Elf in singing songs such as Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and many, many more! During the show, craft an ornament to take home for your tree, and don’t forget to order extra marshmallows for your hot chocolate! An appearance by the jolliest elf of all, Santa Claus, wraps up the concert. Craft materials are included with ticket purchase. Drinks are served tableside and are not included in the price of the ticket.  

Motown Christmas at The Reid Cabaret at Casa Manana

December 1-12

Enjoy your favorite holiday hits, Motown style! From The Jackson 5 to the Supremes and Marvin Gaye to The Temptations, these festive and smooth renditions of the Christmas classics are sure to put you in the holiday spirit! This show is suitable for most audiences.

GM Financial Parade of Lights – Virtual Event

November 22nd, 7pm-9pm

The GM Financial Parade of Lights will be a television/online ONLY event only this year, without a live audience, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The parade will NOT travel its normal route Downtown, but we will present a television/online broadcast on November 22, 2020! The 38th edition of this Downtown Fort Worth signature event, featuring GM Financial as title sponsor, takes on a different look as we go on television and Facebook, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, from a sound stage set up inside the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Kimbell Art Museum 2020 Holiday Gift Guide & Holiday Sale – Cultural District

The Kimbell’s 2020 Gift Guide presents holiday favorites and inspiring bestsellers from the Museum Shop, including stylish accessories, handmade homewares, imaginative trinkets and more. Shoppers can discover the perfect gift for everyone on their list. All products are of limited quantity and available for in-store purchase only. The Kimbell Museum Shop & Holiday Sale – Cultural District

November 3-22

Located in the iconic Louis I. Kahn Building, the Museum Shop offers a varied array of artisan jewelry, fashionable apparel and elegant decor inspired by the Kimbell’s permanent collection, as well as a large selection of educational art publications and exhibition catalogues. From November 3 through 22, Kimbell members will receive a 20% discount on all merchandise. Nonmembers can join to receive this and other exclusive discounts, free admission to all special exhibitions and much more. The shop is open during museum hours, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays and Saturdays, noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays, and is closed Mondays.

Panther Island Ice

November 20th – January 18th

This is one of the unique holiday traditions Fort Worth offers each year.  Panther Island Ice returns this holiday season. Located at the Coyote Drive-In, Fort Worth’s outdoor skating rink offers public skating starting on November 20, 2020. The ice rink will operate seven days a week through January 18, 2021, including all holidays. The rink is real ice located mostly under a large pavilion. Patrons can take advantage of the ample free parking, along with the drive-in’s other amenities such as covered seating, gas heaters, restrooms, and a full menu including beer and wine options.  It’s a great family outing.  Go early and go often,

Breakfast with Santa

Brand New AC Hotel in downtown Fort Worth

Celebrate this holiday season at the new AC Hotel Fort Worth. Enjoy a family style breakfast with your favorite classic dishes. Radiance Christmas – Weatherford-Decatur-Frisco

Arlington Holiday of Lights Parade

December 12, 6:00pm
Traditionally the parade has started at the corner of Main and Center Streets. The parade travels West on Main Street, South on West Street, East on Abram Street and ends at the corner of Abram and East Street. With the changes to downtown, the route has changed every year for the past five years. Handicap parking is available in the lot at South Street and Oak Street. *The 2020 Route will be posted as soon as it is finalized. Check link below for updated route information.

Luminova Holidays at Globe Life Field

November 20-January 3rd
Experience the brightest event of the year at the world premiere of Luminova Holidays. Surrounded by millions of dazzling lights, Luminova will brighten up your holidays! Visit with jolly ol’ Saint Nick, glide on a 10,000 sq ft outdoor ice-skating pond, snap great pictures with family and friends around our larger-than-life light displays, sip on hot cocoa, and enjoy yummy treats. With 270,000 sq ft of immersive indoor and outdoor entertainment at the all-new Globe Life Field, there is something to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

Theatre Arlington’s Holiday Party

Theatre Arlington’s delightful  musical revue celebrating the holiday season lives on in 2020.  It’s a combination Extravaganza, Bash, Celebration, Jubilee, and Hootenanny all in one.  And always a fun time to share with the whole family!


Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas at Arlington Music Hall

December 8th – 12th 

This always popular holiday concert event makes the move to Arlington Music Hall this year.  Michael Martin Murphey is one of the most celebrated country singer-songwriters of the 20th century, and he still brings a dynamic musical and entertaining LIVE experience.


Holiday in the Park at Six Flags over Texas

November 21st – January 3rd
Holiday in the Park is back for select days from November 21 through January 3, 2021 at Six Flags Over Texas! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, filled with enchanting experiences that will help create those special family fun outings again and again. The breathtaking winter wonderland features a variety of delightful and interactive activities to help capture the holiday spirit.  From the festive shows to extravagantly decorated Christmas tree, holiday fun is around every corner! The whole family can relish in the joy of this wonderful season with festive, holiday treats, unique holiday-themed attractions and the best in seasonal entertainment! Holiday in the Park is a one-of-a-kind experience that is is sure to provide you and your family with long-lasting memories they will cherish for years to come.


Hometown Holidays Merry Midway

December 4th-5th

Mansfield’s popular Hometown Holidays is back and bigger than ever, with some important changes to bring even more festive celebration but also keep everyone safe and healthy this holiday season. This year’s event will include the same crafts, live musical performances, food trucks, petting zoo and ice slides you know and love. NEW this year, we’re adding exciting carnival rides, including a 65-foot tall Ferris wheel for the middle of Main Street!

Santa will be at Hometown Holidays for free (bring your own camera!) photos on a first come, first served basis on Friday from 5-9pm and Saturday for a limited time to be determined. Fireworks will follow the tree lighting on Friday night and ALSO again on Saturday night, both times at approximately 6:30pm. Fireworks will be shot from the North Main Street Bridge, so anyone in the downtown area will have a great view. The increased space and expanded time gives more room for people to space out, both physically and when they choose to attend. Masks will be required for all staff, volunteers and guests per state order, and sanitizing stations will be available throughout.

Grapevine: The Christmas Capitol of Texas

It’s more merry in Grapevine, the Christmas Capital of Texas! Grapevine is the perfect place to create wonderful Christmas memories with your family and friends. You’ll be amazed at 40 days of Christmas events, as you see Grapevine sparkle with millions of lights, enormous decorations, animated characters, holiday events, and much more!


An Elvis Christmas with Kraig Parker at Granbury Live

It’s time to get all shook up! Back by popular demand it’s international award winning Elvis tribute artist Kraig Parker. Seen around the world for over 20 years, Kraig Parker has been hailed as “the closest thing to the King in concert!” The look, the voice, the moves and persona has left fans crying in the aisles and screaming for more! Performing Elvis greatest hits and Christmas favorites with the Royal Tribute Band, you will believe Elvis has NOT left the building!


The Modern Lights at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

November 27–January 17
The Modern trees will be illuminated with an array of festive lights in celebration of the holiday season. Passersby will be treated to a stunning display, and visitors are invited to enjoy evening viewing opportunities from the galleries. The museum is open with free gallery admission until 8 pm on Fridays.

Celebrate the magic of the holidays with a virtual hour of yuletide cheer! Enjoy greetings from Santa, holiday classics read by Mrs. Claus, and fun family activities. This event is open to all members.  Carter Family members also receive art-making supplies and a personalized video message from jolly ole Saint Nick himself! Instructions on how to pick up your art-making kit will be emailed prior to the event. If you’d like to receive a special video message from Santa following the event, please provide your children’s names when you register.


Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway

November 26th – January 3rd

Fill up your car, truck, or SUV and drive through millions of lights at Texas Motor Speedway. Due to the CDC guidelines regarding Covid -19, Santa’s Village will not be open this season.
