Enjoy a Western Wonderland at The Fort Worth Stockyards

The holiday festivities kickoff when Cowboy Santa makes his grand arrival to the Stockyards on Friday, November 26th! Guests can welcome him in his stagecoach following the 11:30 a.m. Cattle Drive. Activities to follow his entrance include photos by appointment, Cowboy poetry, story time with Mrs. Claus, holiday carolers and more. Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus story time will continue through the holiday season – a full schedule can be found online.

The day concludes with the kickoff of the Stockyards’ holiday light spectacular with a festive tree lighting outside the Exchange Building and at Hotel Drover at 6:00 p.m. Guests can see the Stockyards, Mule Alley, and Hotel Drover adorned with Christmas lights as they welcome Santa and the district wide celebrations commence.

Through the holiday season, guests can journey through a district wide Western wonderland complete with dreamy lighting and decor. Stroll down East Exchange Avenue and Mule Alley, where every tree will be lit, light poles will be wrapped in garland and ribbon, and garland and lights can be found decorating Cowtown Coliseum, the Exchange Building, Stockyards Station, and even the Cowtown Cattlepen Maze. Enjoy quintessential Texas themed lights with two boot sculptures up the steps of the Exchange Building, a horseshoe outside of American Paint Horse Association, and a 6-foot large wreath outside Shake Shack on Mule Alley. Guests can enjoy festive shopping down Mule Alley and end their evening at Hotel Drover for seasonal spirits, hot chocolate and coffee around the backyard fire pits.

Also, save the date for Christmas in the Stockyards on Saturday, December 4 from 12-4 p.m. Join The Stockyards as they celebrate the 20th Annual Christmas in the Stockyards featuring Sounds of the Season, Strolling Holiday Entertainment, Festive Activities, Photos with Cowboy Santa, Mrs. Claus Story Time, and a spectacular Christmas parade at 4pm!

GM Financial Parade of Lights

On Sunday, November 21, 2021, join us for a renewed, live and in-person, GM Financial Parade of Lights! It’s a day filled with exciting things to do throughout Downtown, from taking care of your holiday shopping to dining out in some of the finest restaurants in Fort Worth, all while enjoying the holiday spirit of the country’s top holiday parade.

The GM Financial Parade of Lights begins at 6:00 PM at the intersection of Weatherford and Throckmorton Streets. The parade proceeds east along Weatherford Street, turns south on Commerce and goes all the way to 9th Street. At 9th Street the parade turns west, proceeds past the Convention Center to Houston St., and then turns north on Houston Street to 2nd St.  The final turns for the parade are west on 2nd St. to Throckmorton Street, and south to 3rd St. where the parade will end. This is one of the unique holiday traditions Fort Worth offers each year.  Panther Island Ice Returns Panther Island Ice returns this holiday season. Located at Coyote Drive-In, Fort Worth’s outdoor skating rink offers public skating starting on November 19, 2021. The ice rink will operate seven days a week through January 17, 2022, including all holidays. The rink is real ice located mostly under a large pavilion. Patrons can take advantage of the ample free parking, along with the drive-in’s other amenities such as covered seating, gas heaters, restrooms, and a full menu including beer and wine options.
